BEP-20
Also known as: Binance Token Standard, BSC ERC-20 Equivalent, Fungible Token BSC
A token standard on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) similar to Ethereum’s ERC-20, defining rules for fungible tokens.
BEP-20 is the fungible token standard for Binance Smart Chain (BSC), analogous to Ethereum’s ERC-20. It establishes rules for token creation, transfer, allowance, and metadata, making tokens interoperable within the BSC ecosystem. BEP-20 tokens can represent anything from utility tokens to stablecoins and are widely used across DeFi apps, NFT platforms, and cross-chain bridges. Because BSC is EVM-compatible, developers can deploy or port existing ERC-20 contracts to BEP-20 with minimal changes. BNB is the native token for gas fees, and BEP-20 tokens benefit from BSC’s low transaction costs and fast finality.
