Dynamic NFT (dNFT)
Also known as: dNFT, Evolving NFT, Metadata-Responsive NFT
A type of NFT that can change its metadata based on real-world events or on-chain activity.
Dynamic NFTs, or dNFTs, are non-fungible tokens whose metadata can change over time based on predefined logic. This could include updates based on real-world data (via oracles), user interactions, or on-chain events. For example, a gaming NFT might evolve based on usage, or a sports collectible could reflect live stats. Dynamic NFTs introduce flexibility and interactivity, expanding use cases in gaming, identity, certificates, and loyalty. They are built using smart contracts that allow metadata updates while preserving provenance and uniqueness.
